Emma
Craigen

I was born and raised in Chicago where stories and people grow and bloom in between the cracks in the concrete. I grew up on the South and West Sides where my parents planted the ideals of love and justice deep in my heart. I have family members all over the city and the world, bonds that transcend blood and legality and are instead built on love and trust, but my two sisters and one brother are woven with me by the strongest thread. Now as an adult and an elementary art teacher I seek to plant seeds of creativity in my students and help them start to weave their own tapestries based on what and who they love. I am an illustrator and painter in medium. A storyteller by nature, an artist by education, and an art teacher by trade, my art, writing, and poetry; all I seek is to tell the stories that have grown in or around my heart. I hope my art and my life does them justice.
